What is BocceFest?

BocceFest is a collaboration between Major League Bocce and Dogfish Head Brewery, an annual destination bocce tournament in Lewes, DE. BocceFest features an all-day bocce tournament, live music, beer specials, and fantasic prizes.

BocceFest is located at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in Lewes, DE.

BocceFest 2013

Teams of players gathered at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in Lewes on a beautiful Saturday morning, arriving from Philly, Delaware, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia, and nearly 200 visitors strolled the grounds to watch the tournament, play in pickup bocce games and enjoy a perfect day on the waterfront.

Winning the top prize was Deboccery, a team of four local bocce ballers from Rehoboth, Delaware. They won a cash prize, a case of Dogfish Head beer each, and Patagonia backpacks filled with Dogfish merchandise. In second place was Phil Bombs, a team that competes in the University City division of Major League Bocce in Philadelphia, who narrowly lost a hard fought match.

But BocceFest isn't just about the bocce. All day long, the tourney players and visitors alike enjoyed the tunes of blues rockers Lower Case Blues and classic country band Human Country Jukebox while sipping on delicious, cold Dogfish Head brews, including the limited release Bocce Brew.
